See the best of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit on this six-night safari, which includes meals, lodging, and most transportation, including pick-up at Kilimanjaro International Airport near Arusha (you’ll need to buy your own return flight from the Kogatende Airstrip). You’ll increase your chances of seeing wildlife by visiting different parks, notably Tarangire National Park, the UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Crater, and central and northern Serengeti National Park.

Day 1: Arrival (D) Be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and taken to your overnight accommodation at Mount Meru Hotel.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park (B, L, D)

After breakfast, be picked-up and proceed to Tarangire National Park, one of the largest national parks in Tanzania, located in Manyara region. This place is characterized by the large herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees, also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it. This park is especially known for Tarangire River which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. Overnight at Luxury Lodge.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater (B, L, D)

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with picnic. Descend to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Overnight at Luxury Lodge.

Day 4: Serengeti Seronera (B, L, D)

After breakfast, leave for Central Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch and game drive along the way. Serengeti, among other incredible wildlife and stunning views, is famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundred thousand of zebras, a frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating happening from July thru October. Witness actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. Overnight at Luxury Lodge.

Day 5-6: Northern Serengeti National Park (B, L, D)

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti north, viewing the great migration at Mara area. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note that finding a crossing is very challenging and is sometimes a matter of luck. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. Overnight at Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 7: Arusha (B, L)

After breakfast, drive to Kogatende Airstrip where you will catch your flight to Arusha (own expense) and arrive for lunch. Afterward, you will be driven to the airport for your flight back home.
