Day 1: Transfer to Jinja, visit the Source of the Nile, and return to Kampala
Transfer to Jinja and visit the source of the Nile: Early in the morning on this beautiful day, on this one-day Jinja Nile safari, you will be met by our safari driver, who will introduce himself to you and pick you up from your hotel, where you spent an overnight stay either in Entebbe or Kampala, and set off on a journey to Jinja for exploration of the source of the Nile while briefing you about the expectations, possible encounters, and all other information that you ought to know while on this one-day adventurous Uganda safari. Along the way, you will enjoy the clear view of sugar plantation farms, encounter some locals in their farms, enjoy some street snacks, including roasted gonja (plantain) and some roasted meat (Mchomo), and proceed on your journey with a stopover at Mabira Forest Reserve, one of the most beautiful natural tropical rainforests in Uganda.
There are a lot of things to do in Mabira Forest, such as zip-lining, birding, mangabey monkey tracking, and guided forest walks, among others. You may choose to do any of the mentioned activities at Mabira Forest Reserve and then proceed with your road drive to Jinja, where you will enjoy your lunch. As soon as your lunch is done, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile River to visit the exact source since Speke confirmed that the Nile River originates from Jinja in Uganda, the pearl of Africa. During the boat cruise to the Nile source, look out for other tourist attractions along the shores of the river that will make your visit to the source of the Nile more fascinating.
After a boat cruise to the source of the Nile River, visit the Speke monument and the Mahatma Gandhi statue, visit the craft shops for some souvenirs, and any other attractive place in Jinja, then set off on the journey to embark on a 2-hour drive back to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. If time allows, you will explore the beautiful city before heading to the airport for departures to either the other destination or back home, depending on your flight details.
